FRIDAY COCKTAIL - ITALIAN BERRY MULE!

Still time to get great raspberries and this is so simple to make..delicious!

Ingredients:

6 raspberries
2 oz vodka
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup
1/2 tsp aged balsamic vinegar
2 oz chilled ginger beer
ice

In a cocktail shaker muddle the raspberries.  Add ice and all other ingredients except ginger beer.  Shake Well!  Strain the drink into an iced filled glass and top with the ginger beer.

If you don't know how to make simple syrup by now, you shouldn't be making cocktails!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - END OF SUMMER SNOWCONE COCKTAIL!

SAD BUT TRUE!

But, we have one weekend left so let's get the party started!

 

 

Ingredients:

 

1 cup sweetened frozen strawberries, pureed

1/4 cup (or more) vanilla vodka

2 tbl Grand Marnier

1 tbl pineapple juice

1 tbl fresh lemon juice

strawberry garnish

shaved ice

 

Mix the pureed strawberries with all other ingredients.  Put shaved ice in a tall glass.  Slowly pour the strawberry mixture over the ice and garnish.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - ORANGE SPLASH!

ORANGE ..... ORANGE..... ORANGE!!!

This is from Bar Twenty3 in Nashville!

Ingredients:
2 oz Absolut Citron
1oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
1 splash fresh lime juice
1 splash fresh orange juice
Sugar and an orange slice for garnish

Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice.  Shake well!  Pour into a sugar rimmed glass with ice.  Garnish with an orange slice!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - SUMMER SOLSTICE!

Let the SUMMER begin!  This is sooo refreshing...makes you feel like you are on an exotic island beach with no worries!!!

Ingredients

1 oz pineapple flavored vodka
1/2 oz pineapple flavored Malibu Caribbean Rum
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
3 oz fresh orange juice
1/4 oz grenadine
cherry and orange slice

Combine all ingredients except grenadine and garnish in a shaker with ice.  Shake until very cold and pour in a glass over fresh ice. Top slowly with the grenadine and garnish. YUM!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - BLACK CAT!

Not only is it Friday the 13th..it is also a Full Moon!!!  YIKES!

Ingredients:
1 oz blue curacao
1 oz vodka
3 oz lemon lime soda
1 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
lime twist for garnish

In a shaker with ice, add curacao, vodka and lime juice.  Shake well.  Add lemon lime soda and shake well again.  In a tall glass, add cranberry juice.  Over the back of a spoon carefully strain the mixed ingredients into the glass.  Try not to blend the mixtures completely for presentation.
Garnish with a lime twist.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - ITALIAN BERRY MULE!

I realize it is Kentucky Derby weekend....just not a fan of the ol' Mint Julep.  This baby is far more refreshing.  I will be drinking one of these as they sing Old Kentucky Home!

Ingredients:

6 raspberries (and some for garnish)
ice
2 oz good vodka
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup*
1/2 tsp aged balsamic vinegar
2 oz chilled ginger beer
mint

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the raspberries and a sprig of mint.  Add ice and all the remaining ingredients except the ginger beer.  Shake well and strain into a high ball glass filled with ice.  Top with ginger beer and a sprig of mint and a raspberry.

* Combine equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan.  Bring to a boil then simmer until sugar dissolves.  Remove and let cool. Refrigerate up to a month.

AND THEY ARE OFF!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - WHITE CHRISTMAS!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR!  CREPT UP ON US SO VERY FAST! EXCITING!!!

 

Here's a nice creamy delight for the holidays

Ingredients:

1 oz. heavy cream
1 oz. premium vodka
1 oz. peppermint schnapps
1 oz. white creme de cacao
ice
candy cane garnish

In a shaker with ice combine cream, vodka, schnapps and crème de cacao.  Shake for 30 seconds and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with candy cane.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - NOVEMBER RAIN!

Welcome November!

 

and its rain.....

Ingredients:

8 fresh raspberries
1-1/2 oz good vodka
3/4 oz dry vermouth
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
spoonful or agave or simple syrup
ginger ale
garnish fresh raspberry, cucumber wheel and/or mint sprig

In a shaker, muddle the raspberries and add all ingredients except ginger ale.  Add ice and shake until cold, about 30 seconds.
Strain into a martini glass and top with ginger ale.  Garnish as you like.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - HARVEST MOON!

As summer comes to a close, at least we had the last days of great weather and the nights were amazing with the rise of the Harvest Moon!  Try this cocktail on for size.

1-1/2 parts Grey Goose orange vodka
1/2 part dry vermouth
1/2 part orange liqueur
dash of bitters
twisted orange peel

In a shaker with ice combine all ingredients and shake until the shaker is really cold.  Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the orange twist.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - DOG DAYS OF SUMMER - THE SUNSPLASH!

When you have a few of these, everything will seem right with the world!!!  This will get you through the rest of the dog days my thirsty friends!!!

Ingredients:

1-1/2 oz orange vodka
1/2 oz Cointreau
1-1/2 oz fresh orange juice
1-1/2 oz cranberry juice
1 oz lemon sour mix (2 parts fresh lemon juice and 1 part simple syrup)
Garnish with orange slice and lemon twist

Pour all ingredients in a shaker with ice.  Shake well and strain into a tall glass with ice.  Garnish with fruit.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - THE BITCH!!!!

Well ..I am blogging this for a very special person - you know who you are!!!!

The bartender who invented this used to work in Cardiff in 1982 and was his secret recipe

1 part light rum
1 part dark rum
1 part vodka
3 parts orange juice
2 parts pineapple juice
1/2 part grenadine
1/2 part peach brandy
garnish with orange and pineapple wedges

In a shaker with ice mix all ingredients except the brandy.  Shake and pour into two hurricane glasses and float the peach brandy on top. Garnish with fruit wedges.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - MOTHER'S DAY BLUSHING LADY!

This martini is perfectly designed with fruity flavors and the sugar rimmed glass...yummy!  Careful not to drink too many or you will be blushing as "pink as the drink"!!!

1 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
2 oz vodka
1 oz pink grapefruit
lemon, grapefruit or lime wedge
sugar for rimming

Wet the rim of a martini glass and rim with sugar.  In a shaker with ice mix all ingredients and shake until the shaker is very cold.  Pour into martini glass and garnish.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - RUBY MARTINI!

In honor of the anniversary of The Wizard of Oz and the opening of Oz The Great and Powerful...here is a weird cocktail...weird because it ends up being blue not red....confusing...

Ingredients:

1-1/2 oz good Vodka
1/2 oz Blue Curacao
1/2 oz cranberry juice
lemon twist

In a shaker with ice combine ingredients.  Shake and strain into a martini glass.  Rim the glass with lemon peel twist the peel over the glass and drop it in.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - NE BLIZZARD SNOW CONE!

It would only seem logical that when you are about to get three feet of snow...you utilize it to your BEST advantage.  Here is a great cocktail made with snow.

Ingredients:

3 cups CLEAN fresh snow
1-1/2 oz Strawberry infused vodka
1/2 oz vanilla vodka
fresh mint leaves

Chill the vodkas in a shaker with ice.  Put 2 cups of snow in a tall glass.  Gently strain chilled vodkas over the snow .  Add mint leaves and top with remaining snow.  Stir gently.

FRIDAY HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL - DRACULA'S KISS!

IT'S HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!!!!!!!
This martini is so easy to make and has the flavor of Dr. Pepper..yummy...simple ingredients too:

Ingredients:

1 oz black cherry vodka
1/2 oz grenadine
cola
cherries for garnish

Coat the bottom of a martini glass with the grenadine.  In a shaker with ice shake the vodka to cool it (or refrigerate the vodka ahead of time). Strain cold vodka into the glass, fill with the cola and garnish with cherries.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - BAILEYS CARAMEL APPLETINI!

Autumn is literally around the corner as in 12 hours from now.  While we all love Autumn..it means winter is starting to churn...ugh...I am reading about everyone apple picking so I thought I would help you put them to good use..

Ingredients:

1 oz Baileys Caramel Irish Cream
1/2 oz Green Apple flavored Vodka
1 slice of a green apple
1 tsp caramel

In a shaker with ice mix the Irish Cream and the Vodka.  Strain into a chilled martini glass.  Drizzle the caramel over the top and garnish with the apple slice.

TASTES LIKE A CARAMEL APPLE ONLY BETTER!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - MAINE WATERMELON CHILLER PUNCH!!!!

In less than 24 hours the first of many Maine "vacationland" fun weeks begins.  Family and friends will be together for beach time, food time and of course COCKTAIL time.  Having lived all across America at some point, I can atest that the BEST watermelon EVA is in the state of Maine.

So, fitting that the Hartstone Inn in Camden, Maine has this beauty as their signature cocktail.  It can be made as a punch or single servings.

Ingredients:

One Maine Watermelon (6 lbs)
12 oz Vodka
12 oz Lemon Lime Soda
1/4 cup fresh Lime Juice
garnish with watermelon slice, lime wedge or green apple slice

Scoop out watermelon, puree it and strain into a punch bowl with ice.  Stir in vodka, soda and juice.  Then garnish as you will.

For single servings, prepare the mix the same but don't add the soda until you are ready to drink.  The ratio should be 2/3 watermelon, vodka-juice mix to 1/3 soda mix.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - CANDY CANE!

Hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving. I certainly did! Now begins all of our Christmas Holiday cocktails...yum! This makes a great pre-dinner cocktail or a perfect after dinner sweet!

3/4 oz berry flavored vodka

3/4 oz peppermint schnapps

3/4 oz white creme de cacao

1/4 oz grenadine

half & half

soda water

candy cane for garnish

In a shaker with ice, combine vodka, schnapps, white creme de cacao and grenadine. You can either crush the candy cane and rim a martini glass with it or hang the cane on the side of the glass as a garnish. Pour the vodka mix into the martini glass, fill with cream and add a splash of soda water.

This one may just knock your socks off!!!! Wonderful combination of flavors. A perfect start to your Thanksgiving Day festivities.

Ingredients:

1/2 oz Amaretto

1/2 oz Raspberry liqueur

1/4 oz sour mix

1/2 oz Southern Comfort

1 oz Raspberry Vodka

garnish with a cherry or raspberry

Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a cherry or raspberry.
