FRIDAY COCKTAIL - JFK'S FAVORITE CUBAN DAIQUIRI!

On this day of remembrance - here's the favorite of not only JFK but our man Hemingway as well!

Ingredients:

1-1/2 oz light rum
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 tsp simple syrup or superfine sugar
garnish with lime wedge

Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a martini glass.  Garnish with a lime wedge.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - SPIKED CIDER!

 
 
This will be the SIGNATURE cocktail at our Thanksgiving Feast!!

Not a huge rum fan, but this is delicious!

Ingredients:

1/4 gallon Apple Cider
1/2 cup Dark Rum
1/2 cup Cinnamon Schnapps
1 granny smith apple, peeled, chucked and skewered
1/2 lemon, juiced

Mix cider, rum and schnapps in a large pitcher.  Coat the apple chucks with the lemon juice so they don't brown and skewer a few for each cocktail.  Pour the cider mixture in a glass with ice and garnish with apples.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - YANKEE FIGHTER!

In HONOR of upcoming Veteran's Day, thought this cocktail might be interesting...haha

1-1/2 oz Wild Turkey
1/2 oz Southern Comfort
club soda
beef jerky garnish

In a glass with ice add the Wild Turkey and Southern Comfort.  Stir and top with club soda.  Garnish with a piece of beef jerky...YES...beef jerky!!!

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - NOVEMBER RAIN!

Welcome November!
 
and its rain.....

Ingredients:

8 fresh raspberries
1-1/2 oz good vodka
3/4 oz dry vermouth
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
spoonful or agave or simple syrup
ginger ale
garnish fresh raspberry, cucumber wheel and/or mint sprig

In a shaker, muddle the raspberries and add all ingredients except ginger ale.  Add ice and shake until cold, about 30 seconds.
Strain into a martini glass and top with ginger ale.  Garnish as you like.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - CRANBERRY MARGARITA!

This is a great Thanksgiving Day cocktail for your family gathering from The Red Cat in NYC!  Let's call it Thanksgiving-in-a-Glass!

For Cranberry Jam
3/4 cup fresh cranberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp finely grated orange zest
2 Tbl fresh orange juice

Assembly
1 Tbl salt
1 Tbl sugar
1-1/2 tsp Chinese five spice powder
1 lime wedge, plus 2 oz fresh lime juice
4 oz fresh orange juice
6 oz TEQUILA

Cranberry Jam
Bring cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and 1/4 cup water to a boil in a saucepan.  Reduce to simmer, stirring occasionally until thick and "jammy". This takes 30-40 minutes.  Mix in orange zest and let cool.  Jam can be made up to 5 days ahead .  Cover and chill.

Assembly
Mix salt, sugar, and five spice powder on a small plate.  Rub rims of Old Fashioned glasses with a lime wedge; dip in salt mixture and fill glasses with ice.
For each cocktail, combine 1/2 lime juice, 1 oz. orange juice, 1-1/2 oz. tequila and 2 Tbl cranberry jam in a cocktail shaker; fill with ice.  Cover and shake until outside is frosty, about 30 seconds.  Strain into prepared glass.

You can garnish with a lime or fresh cranberries.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - NEW ORLEANS SAZERAC!

This is a New Orleans CLASSIC!  It is best when you make it ahead of time in a batch and let it get nice and chilled in the frig.

3 cups rye whiskey
1/2 cups simple syrup
1 tbl absinthe
1-1/2 tsp bitters
3/4 cups ice water
lemon twist

Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher.  Chill in the frig for at least 2 hours or up to a day.  Pour into rocks glasses filled with ice and garnish with a lemon twist.  This makes about 12.

FRIDAY COCKTAIL - HARVEST MOON!

As summer comes to a close, at least we had the last days of great weather and the nights were amazing with the rise of the Harvest Moon!  Try this cocktail on for size.

1-1/2 parts Grey Goose orange vodka
1/2 part dry vermouth
1/2 part orange liqueur
dash of bitters
twisted orange peel

In a shaker with ice combine all ingredients and shake until the shaker is really cold.  Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the orange twist.
